Where did we come from?

Where did we come from? The answer to this question starts with God, the immortal being. He said to the other beings that were in heaven with him, (Genesis 1:26-27) ” Let us make man in our image, after our likeness… So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.” So we are in the image of God. We resemble God. And if we have the same qualities and features as God, then we know that God is not a mist in the air. God made the first man, Adam from the ground. (Genesis 2:7) “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. Once again we( the human race) are too complex to be a coincidence. Please read my other excerpts to get the full understanding of what is being conveyed here. Man is comprised of many interconnected bodily systems. Digestive, skeletal, immune, nervous, and muscular system and many others ( I’m not a doctor lol) but you get the pictures. It’s just too intricate and detailed to say it just happened. Someone made us, and took a great deal of thought into fashioning us.

Man, God's creation.

Man, God’s creation.

That someone is God. God also made the female, which was Eve from the rib of Adam. (Genesis 2: 21- 23) “And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.” Now let me make a disclosure here. I believe in the Bible; in its truths, its history, its doctrine, and its prophecies. The Bible teaches us about God and ourselves. Without the Bible the world won’t know anything about God, nor how we came to exist. Our forefathers have inscribed our money with “In God We Trust”. Even in some of their writings they mentioned the Holy Scriptures. I said all of that, to say this. You must believe the Bible is the infallible Word of God. By receiving the Bible as his word and also living by it; you become right with God. Therefore, we were made by God from the ground and the first man Adam received life when God breathed in him.

Aiea Bowl

The Alley Restaurant at Aiea Bowl is one of the many places you must hit up on the Island of Oahu. Located in the heart of Aiea right up the street from Pearl Ridge Mall this jewel will tantalize your taste buds. So this time around I had the handmade bacon burger with fries. Now let me say this, there are not many places I would go and order a burger but this place is not the norm. The burger is handmade. Did you get that the burger is handmade. I tell you what if I knew who made the burger, I’d slapped the cook! That burger was awesome! I’m sorry I don’t have a picture of it because I devoured it. I ‘m not like most bloggers I don’t just go to the place to report how the food is; I go to eat! Oh yeah and the bacon is real meaty bacon not some skimpy McDonald’s tissue paper bacon. (lol) The burger was kind of warm this time around, it was definitely the server’s fault because they normally serve it hot and fresh. But, thankfully there was another server that started waiting on us after he realized our server wasn’t firing on all cylinders. Just to let you know we tipped him and the our waiter. Putting all that aside every waiting experience is different and there are always factors to take into consideration when you go out to a restaurant. Aiea Bowl is a very good establishment from what I see. The restaurant was full and we actually sat in their overflow area which is in the bowling alley’s upper deck tables (over looking some of the bowling lanes). Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad they got these seats else we would be waiting a very long time just to eat. But anyways, The Alley is a very busy place that also has a take out counter which floods the kitchen with orders. So if the waiter is not paying attention when the order comes out then its possible to get warm food. Which is rare because the food comes out as it is ready. That’s another good thing I like about The Alley. So as much as possible when you go out be patient, and don’t wear your stomach on your sleeve. Meaning don’t be so quick to snap. But if you’ve been sitting in a restaurant for 30 minutes and you still haven’t got your water. Stand on top of the table and shoot off flares to the first server that comes near your table.

Lemon Crunch Cake from The Alley Restaurant at Aiea Bowl

Lemon Crunch Cake from The Alley Restaurant at Aiea Bowl

Alright, what I love The Alley Restaurant at Aiea Bowl for is their dessert. The Alley has the best dessert on the island hands down. Listen, if a fat guy tells you that something is really good, trust me it’s good. And you can take my word because I’m fat, or like how this one guy puts it. I’m fluffy. The lemon crunch cake is oh so delicious! We actually go there for the dessert and while we’re there, we eat. I highly recommend the lemon crunch cake. Remember, trust the stomach of a fat guy, and get the lemon crunch cake. Oh yeah, I have to mention they have Ox Tail Soup. I don’t see what the big deal is, I’m not a soup guy, but my wife, brother-in-law and a host of other people love it so much. That’s what they’re known for. But not in my book. That lemon crunch cake puts them on the map! So, check out The Alley Restaurant at Aiea Bowl.

Is God a man?

Now that we know God exist, what is he? To answer this question we will have to look into the definitive work which is called the Word of God or the Holy Bible. The Bible was written by holy men inspired by God’s Spirit. These men actually lived and wrote about the same God; some knew each other and others didn’t. But some how they all managed to write the same thing. Coincidence, I think not. So let’s answer the question.

God said in Genesis 1: 26 “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness”. Man, as in the human race; having a head with eyes, ears, a mouth, a nose and so on and so forth. He has legs, arms and all the other body parts that man (the human race) has. So before I can say whether he is a man or woman I first must show he is a being. Spirit being, meaning immortal man. So when you hear that God is a spirit that means he is an immortal being.

Next, we all know the scripture John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son”. That answers two questions, God is a man and God and his Son are two separate beings. 1John 1: 3 “That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.” Father, not mother, and a father is a man not woman. So, God is a man. The Heavenly Father. With every bit of truth we discovery the true and living God.

Joe's Grill Express

Come to Joe’s Grill Express

For this week’s broke da mouth spot we feature Joe’s Grill Express located off of N.Nimitz Highway. This place is for the island’s working man who works close to the airport and the surrounding areas. For early morning breakfast as early as 4:30am Joe has you covered, and there’s nothing on the menu over $8.00; minis are $5.50 which is pretty good!

When I go to Joe’s Grill I get the garlic shrimp and either steak or pork adobo. The steak is lightly seasoned which is good because the steak is so tender it take on whatever seasoning you put on it. Sometimes I go with just salt and at other times I eat it with A-1 sauce. Also they really pile on the rice, but what I like to do is ask for one scoop of rice and get toss salad and mac salad. Their mac salad is one of the best on the island and trust me I’ve eaten a lot of mac salads from many different places.

I took a picture of the food at Joe’s Grill and I’ll let the picture do the rest of the talking. By the way the people who work there are pretty cool too. Small, friendly, fast, and great food, Joe’s Grill Express.
